China Pulmonary Thromboembolism Registry Study Network (CURES Network)

The China Pulmonary Thromboembolism Registry Study Network (CURES Network) was established in January 2009 by the National Assembly of Pulmonary Embolism and Pulmonary Vascular Research Group under the leadership of Chinese Thoracic Society as a large prospective multicenter registry across the country that highlighted future research directions on PE in China. That network now consists of nearly 100 hospitals nationwide and has conducted numerous randomized controlled trials and real-world studies of VTE within China leading to the publication of papers and national guidelines.

Since the publication of the DissolVE-2 study - Chinese Hospitalized Patients’ Risk Profile for Venous Thromboembolism-2, the network are working to assess the effectiveness of a system-wide multifaceted quality improvement (QI) strategy on VTE prophylaxis improvement and thromboembolism reduction in clinical setting (CHIPS-VTE) as well as leading a national program with the support of the Chinese National Health Commission  for prevention and management of pulmonary embolism and deep Venous thrombosis in China (China VTE Prevention Program) – a program that aims to help hospitals nationwide establish a system for VTE prevention and management by formulating strategies of thromboprophylaxis, and standardizing the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of VTE.in China VTE Prevention Program.
