Dear INVENT members and colleagues,

As many of our members and colleagues are aware, elections for the ISTH Council Class of 2026 are underway. Three members of the INVENT community have been selected for the final ballot for this election: Dr. Saskia Middeldorp (Dutch Thrombosis Network - the Netherlands), Dr. James Douketis (CanVECTOR - Canada), and Dr. Christopher Ward (THANZ - Australia / New Zealand).

The network strongly supports its community members running in this election class. We believe having a strong voice for VTE clinical research at the table of the Council is essential to improving the care of patients affected by venous thromboembolism (VTE) around the world through the design, development, conduct and promotion of high-quality clinical research into the causes, prevention, diagnosis and optimal management of VTE.

Please see each candidate's vision statement below:

Thank you for your consideration.

Dr. Grégoire Le Gal
Vice-Chair, INVENT Network
