INVENT-VTE is thrilled to welcome the newest National VTE Research Network to join the network: The China Pulmonary Thromboembolism Registry Study Network (CURES Network). INVENT-VTE Council approved the network membership application at the most recent Council meeting in February 2021.

The CURES Network was established in January 2009 by the National Assembly of Pulmonary Embolism and Pulmonary Vascular Research Group under the leadership of the Chinese Thoracic Society as a large prospective multicenter registry across the country that highlighted future directions on PE research in China. The network, consisting of nearly 100 hospitals nationwide, has undertaken numerous randomized controlled trials and real-world studies of VTE within China leading to the publication of papers and national guidelines.

Their work led to the publication of the DissolVE-2 study - Chinese Hospitalized Patients’ Risk Profile for Venous Thromboembolism-2 - and since, the network is assessing the effectiveness of a system-wide multifaceted quality improvement strategy on VTE prophylaxis improvement and thromboembolism reduction in clinical setting (CHIPS-VTE) as well as leading a national program with the support of the Chinese National Health Commission for prevention and management of pulmonary embolism and deep venous thrombosis in China (China VTE Prevention Program).

Dr. Chen Wang, MD, and Dr. Yongjun Li, MD, PhD, have been appointed as national representatives by the CURES Network to sit on INVENT-VTE Council. The CURES Network becomes the 10th Network Member.
