The INVENT-VTE Network is thrilled to announce that we have awarded two outstanding trainees with ISTH-INVENT Training Fellowship awards through the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis's 2022 Training Fellowship Program (ISTH-TF Program)!

The Network has continued in this partnership with ISTH to offer a joint Training Fellowship in an effort to encourage collaboration between international VTE / thrombosis research networks / countries through this unique and important training program.

The program grants provide fellows with financial support for travel, accommodation and living expenses for a fellowship period of up to two (2) months (with the possibility to extend for 4 months for accepted applicants). It is intended for clinicians and scientists at an early stage in their career (within 10 years of completion of PhD or completion of clinical sub-specialty training).

Sarah Kelliher, MD (Ireland)

  • Current position: PhD candidate/Haematology, University College Dublin/Mater Misericordiae University Hospital
  • Research topic: Defining the Prothrombotic Platelet Phenotype in MPN: A Cross-Institutional Multi-omic Collaborative
  • Fellowship Location: Department of Pathology, School of Medicine, Stanford University
  • Supervisor: Anandi Krishnan, PhD

Vicky Mai, MD (Canada)

  • Current position: Thrombosis Research Fellow,  University of Ottawa/Ottawa Hospital
  • Research topic: Management of Patients with Suspicion of PE Amongst Patients with COPDe
  • Fellowship Location:Western Brittany Thrombosis Research Group,  Centre Hospitalier Régional et Universitaire (CHRU) de Brest
  • Supervisor: Francis Couturaud, MD, PhD
