The INVENT-VTE Network is thrilled to announce that we have awarded two outstanding trainees with ISTH-INVENT Training Fellowship awards through the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis's 2024 Training Fellowship Program (ISTH-TF Program).
The Network has continued in this partnership with ISTH to offer a joint Training Fellowship in an effort to encourage collaboration between international VTE / thrombosis research networks / countries through this unique and important training program.
The program grants provide fellows with financial support for travel, accommodation and living expenses for a fellowship period of up to two (2) months. It is intended for clinicians and scientists at an early stage in their career (within 10 years of completion of PhD or completion of clinical sub-specialty training).
Meet the new fellowship recipients below:
Bipin Paruchuri, PhD (U.S.A.)
- Current position: Post-doctoral research associate, Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, USA
- Topic: Intravital Assessment of Bioresponsive Hemostatic Nanotherapeutics
- Host Institute / Department: Department of Internal Medicine I, Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich, Germany
- Supervisor: Dr. Leo Nicolai, MD
Elena Butera, MD (Italy)
- Current position: Internal Medicine Resident, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Rome Italy
- Topic: Exploring Growth Differentiation Factor 15 (GDF-15) as a biomarker and investigating genetic polymorphisms in genes involved in coagulation and fibrinolytic systems for predicting postoperative bleeding in PERIOP-01 patients.
