Dear Colleagues,

We hope this message finds you safe and well during these unprecedented and challenging times.

While researchers are navigating through a difficult and quickly changing landscape, they continue to seek answers to important clinical questions. Many researchers in our INVENT National VTE Research Networks are moving quickly to respond to the urgent need for evidence related to coagulation and COVID-19. This is why we would like to hear from you!

INVENT is inviting investigators to apply for INVENT Endorsement for their COVID-19 / VTE Research Study. As COVID-19 studies are being developed at an accelerated pace, our goal is to ensure our members are aware and have the opportunity to collaborate on important trials.

About INVENT Endorsement

Clinical studies, and especially randomized controlled trials (RCT), that are academically-driven and seeking to recruit participants in multiple countries are eligible for INVENT endorsement.

INVENT endorsed studies will be provided a letter of endorsement upon request, have a study summary posted on the INVENT website, will be promoted to members via email and social media tools, and will have access to INVENT resources; e.g. use of adjudication platform at “academic rate.”

Eligibility

  • Applicants: a proposed study must be supported/developed by members of two or more INVENT National VTE Research Networks and committed to international collaboration, ethical research practices, and fair recognition of co-investigators’ research contributions.
  • Study stage: research at any stage of development is eligible for endorsement by the INVENT Network. Investigators may apply for approval of a research idea or preliminary protocol, a study with a fully-developed protocol, or one that is actively recruiting participants.
  • Research design: academically-driven clinical research studies that are seeking to recruit participants in multiple countries.

For more information about INVENT Endorsement, please visit our website here.

Timeline

While there is no deadline for INVENT Endorsement, you are encouraged to submit your application now. COVID-19 / VTE Endorsed Studies will be actively promoted, and are eligible for our recently launched Spring 2020 INVENT Kickstarter Awards - intended to help Principal Investigators of INVENT Endorsed Studies to initiate new international study sites in INVENT National VTE Research Networks.

If you have any questions, please contact us by email at info@invent-vte.com. Feel free to share this news with any colleagues who might be interested in applying in collaboration with an Endorsed Study Lead.

Thank you

Dr. Saskia Middeldorp and Dr. Grégoire Le Gal
Chair and Vice-Chair, INVENT Network
